PICO BISTRO – Restaurant
A Brazilian empanada bistro on West Montrose Street where the fillings are the whole point. Pico Bistro folds beef with green olives, shrimp with blue cheese, duck with fig, brie with apricot, chicken and ham, guava jalapeño and provolone with sausage into pastry that holds its shape, and adds pulled pork with pineapple for the hungrier end of the menu. Cheese balls, crispy fries and chicken croquettes fill the gaps. Sweet empanadas — dulce de leche, guava and cheese, Nutella and strawberry — come fried to order. Cocktails, vegetarian options, closed Mondays.
