A name with a Buenos Aires pedigree going back to 1893, when Don Agustín Banchero arrived from Genoa — and the fugazza con queso his son later created is still the reason to come. Banchero's North Beach room builds that pie thick and deep, mozzarella baked both into and on top of the dough, finished with charred white onions and a whole olive on every slice. Traditional empanadas sit alongside. Open until late every night on Collins Avenue. Argentinian-Italian pizza, made the way the family has always made it.
