Rib City has been smoking baby back ribs since 1989, when it opened as a single roadside barbecue joint on a Southwest Florida highway. The Lehigh Acres kitchen still runs on the same idea: ribs first, everything else in support. Racks come off the smoker with a dark bark and a sweet-sharp house sauce, and the menu fills out with pulled pork, chicken, brisket and family-sized combo platters meant to feed a table. Regulars treat it as the neighborhood BBQ stop rather than an occasion place, and the Rib Club loyalty card gets a workout. Barbecue with a Florida address and a three-decade head start.
