Shakey's arrived in the Philippines in 1975 and never left - more than 300 branches now, the Valenzuela room among them, and a menu three generations have memorised. The pizza is paper-thin crust, which is the whole identity, but the order most tables actually build around is Chicken 'n' Mojos: fried chicken with the seasoned potato slices that no one else has ever quite copied. Group meals pair mojos and chicken with two large thin-crusts, and there are pastas, starters, soups and salads for the rest. Loud, bright, family-shaped, and the default answer for a birthday nobody wants to cook for.
