Smashhouse – Restaurant
One of the very few dedicated kosher smash burger houses in the country, working out of two tight Midtown storefronts a short walk from Penn Station and the Empire State Building. The griddle is the whole show: thin patties pressed hard for lacy, crisped edges, stacked and sent out fast. Onion rings, wings and fresh salads fill in around them, and the certification covers every ingredient in the building. It is a family-run operation and it feels like one - counter service, quick turnover, late hours that stretch past midnight most of the week. Regulars treat it as the default when kosher and a real burger have to happen at once.
