Sweet Desires Espresso Bar & Bakery pulls Niccolo coffee on a La Marzocco with baristas who know what they are doing, on 21st Street in Vero Beach. Pastries are baked fresh, quiche is made in house, and the sandwiches hold up next to the coffee rather than apologizing to it - with gluten-free and plant-based options built in rather than bolted on. Weekdays run seven to five, Saturday mornings until three, Sunday dark. Its sister dessert lounge on Royal Palm Pointe handles the nights. A serious coffee bar in a town that did not have one.
