TINTA Y CAFE MIAMI SHORES – Restaurant

The Miami Shores outpost of Tinta y Cafe keeps the family-scrapbook aesthetic - old photographs, vintage cameras, a shelf of retired coffee makers - and adds outdoor seating and its own parking. Mornings are pastelitos de guayaba y queso, tostada cubana and iced cafe con leche; lunch belongs to the sandwiches, especially El Guajiro and the Cuban. Croquetas are made in house and the flan is worth a detour. Diners keep noting how quickly the small room fills, and how the staff manages the crush without rushing anyone. Big breakfast, tight quarters. Go early.
