TU DO DELI – Restaurant

A tiny Vietnamese counter in a Military Trail strip mall, run by a family who cook everything to order. The pho draws the loudest praise, a clean, skimmed broth with brisket that gives way at the fork, and the banh mi come on properly toasted bread with pickled vegetables and well-seasoned meat. Beyond that: grilled pork vermicelli with egg rolls, com tam grilled pork platters, house fried rice, dried egg noodles and a lemongrass tofu sandwich that converts skeptics. Prices are modest, portions are not. Nothing fancy. Everything right.
