Ocala has two of these cone-shaped soft serve stands, one on College Road and one out on Highway 200, and both run the same simple playbook. Chocolate, vanilla and strawberry anchor the menu; the premium list stretches to pistachio, cotton candy, orange, praline, black cherry and white chocolate. Twirls swirl two together on the spot. From there it is sundaes, shakes and malts, slushies, glaciers and floats, served on cake, sugar, waffle or fancy cones. Order at the window, eat at a shaded table. Nothing here is complicated, and nothing needs to be.
