TWISTEE TREAT – Restaurant

Florida's cone-shaped soft serve stand, and Davenport has two of them off the Highway 27 corridor. The formula has not changed in decades: chocolate, vanilla and strawberry as the base, with premium flavours running through peanut butter, coconut, black cherry, praline, mint and blue raspberry. Twirls swirl two together; sundaes, shakes and malts, slushies, glaciers and floats fill out the rest. Cones come cake, sugar, waffle or fancy. Families treat it as the after-dinner stop it was designed to be, and the queue moves faster than it looks. Cheap, generous, unchanged. That is the appeal.
