UNWINED WINE & BEER BAR – Restaurant

A small wine bar off Sullivan Street in downtown Punta Gorda where the food is more ambitious than the room lets on. The list is tapas-shaped: montaditos, truffle mushroom flatbread, squid ink and lobster ravioli, lamb albondigas al greco, Moroccan-dusted hog wings, pinchos of seared lomo de bife, smoked steak tartare. Bottles range from Cahors Malbec and Tuscan Sangiovese to Portuguese reds and Napa, and yes, there is beer on tap for whoever came along. Live music most weeks, and owners with a habit of actually changing things when guests ask. Come for a glass. Stay for four plates.
