VIA CANALETTO – Restaurant

A restored century-old house on North Orange Street, reservations expected, a wine cellar stocked deeper than the room's size suggests. Old-school Italian fine dining played straight: chicken marsala, lobster ravioli, cheese ravioli in gorgonzola tomato cream, Delmonico steak, minestrone, pasta primavera, cannoli and tiramisu. Chef Antonio Mazzella cooks; owner Leon Geller works the floor and, by many accounts, remembers you the second time. Diners describe an intimate evening where the service keeps pace with the plates. Small, serious, and very hard to leave quickly.
