VOODOO BAYOU – Restaurant

A low-lit, faintly gothic dining room in Palm Beach Gardens where an open kitchen throws New Orleans heat and Saturday nights come with live music. The Cajun-Creole menu runs to shrimp and sausage jambalaya, shrimp and grits, crawfish etouffee, fried green tomatoes and Louisiana fried chicken with waffles, plus wood-fired oysters that regulars order before they order anything else. Beignets close it out. Diners consistently single out the cocktails and the room's atmosphere, though they also warn it is genuinely dark and the music genuinely loud. Come for the noise, stay for the roux.
