WOODLANDS EXPRESS – Restaurant

Entirely vegetarian, entirely unbothered about looking the part — Woodlands Express on North University Drive in Lauderhill is a deli-plain room doing serious South Indian cooking. Dosas are the reason to come: butter masala and Mysore masala, crisp and wide, with rasam and dhal alongside. There is a South Indian thali for the undecided, plus Indo-Chinese crossovers like gobi Manchurian and chole bhature from further north. Portions are generous and the kitchen is fast. Diners keep saying the same thing: don't judge it by the decor, the flavours are the real deal. Plant-based by default, not by concession.
