ASAHI RESTAURANT – Restaurant

Founded in 2001 on West Commercial Boulevard, Asahi runs two menus under one roof. The Chinese side turns out General Tso's and sesame chicken, orange beef, hot and spicy jumbo shrimp, ginger and scallion soft shell crab, and a steamed health menu. The Japanese side is where most orders land: gyoza and shumai, tuna tataki, kani-su, tempura from vegetable through the full Asahi platter, donburi bowls, lunch and dinner bento, and rolls including Rainbow, Spider, Dancing Eel, French and American Dream. The owner makes the chicken stock himself and has been cutting salt and sugar. Small room, very long menu.
