AUNT KATE'S – Restaurant

Come by car, by boat, or on foot from the camp resort next door. Aunt Kate's has been on this bend of the Tolomato River for over a century, its decks set under live oaks that still carry old fire scars. You eat close enough to the water that wading birds, pelicans, manatees and dolphins pass while you are at the table. Local seafood leads: steamed oysters, peel-and-eat shrimp, fried oysters and flounder, with steaks and blackened chicken for the rest of the party. There is an indoor dining room and the Victory bar. Old Florida, still floating its dock.
