AVANTI PIZZA & PASTA INC – Restaurant

Out on Northlake Boulevard the ovens run from late morning to closing, turning hand-tossed pies on homemade dough under Grande mozzarella. Avanti has fed Ibis, Avenir and the Acreage for two decades, still family-run. The Sicilian comes thick-crusted and square. Past the pizza sit calzones packed with ricotta and mozzarella, stromboli, flatbreads, wraps and a proper Italian card: chicken piccata in lemon, white wine and capers, linguine with clams, pasta plated to order. Regulars keep mentioning the sheer size of the slices and how fresh the toppings taste. Neighbourhood Italian, done without fuss and without shortcuts, seven days a week.
