Baaria - Italian Café, Wine and Cocktail Bar – wine_bar

Named for Bagheria, the Palermo town its founding family came from, Baaria works Charing Cross Road as an all-day Sicilian cafe that becomes a wine and cocktail bar after dark. Mornings mean cornetti, pistachio croissants and espresso. Later come arancine in bolognese, spinach and pistachio, whole pinsa boards, gourmet focaccia with parma ham, and burrata under caponata. Lasagne and melanzane parmigiana hold the middle. The sweets are the giveaway: cannoli, cassata mousse, torta della nonna, pistachio tiramisu, gelato served in a brioche bun. Negronis and espresso martinis pour alongside Italian bottles. Pavement tables outside, dogs welcome, and theatreland minutes away.
