BABA'S PIEROGIES – Restaurant
A family kitchen in the Andre Design District turning out Ukrainian dumplings from scratch, three generations deep. The pierogi list is the reason to come: potato and onion, cheddar and potato, farmer's cheese with spinach, mushroom, cabbage, organic beef, chicken or turkey, and sweet ones filled with sour cherries, organic blueberries or banana and chocolate. Around them sit vegetarian beet borscht, a vegan gluten-free mushroom soup, cabbage rolls, homemade fries, coleslaw and a house salad. Finish with a Ukrainian waffle under dulce de leche. Closed Mondays, open till seven otherwise, and four on Sundays. Comfort food, unfussy and deeply honest.
