A neighbourhood bagel shop on North Kendall Drive that has held the same storefront since 1992, Bagel Express bakes New York-style bagels every morning and regularly sells out before noon. The board covers pumpernickel, sesame, egg, poppy, garlic, salt, cinnamon, plain, everything, whole wheat and eight-grain, with regular or low-fat cream cheese. Nova lox is hand-sliced. Beyond the bagels there are omelettes, cold-cut sandwiches, a bagel melt, buttery rugelach and a Nova Scotia platter. Indoor and outdoor seating, early hours, no ceremony at all. New ownership arrived in 2023 and kept the recipes exactly as they were. Get there early.
