BANGKOK THAI CUISINE – Restaurant

A locally owned Thai kitchen tucked into a Philips Highway strip on Jacksonville's southside, small enough that the lunch regulars get recognised. Wok work is the draw: pad see ew with wide noodles caught at the edges, pad thai, basil heat dialled up on request. Papaya salad brings the sour-sweet crunch. Pineapple fried rice comes out fragrant and generous, and the tom yum carries a proper lemongrass sting. The kitchen runs from half past ten on weekdays, from noon at weekends, and closes by nine most nights. Diners return for consistency and speed rather than spectacle. Freshly cooked, sensibly priced.
