BARRIO TAQUERIA – Restaurant

A taqueria on Fifth Avenue South in Naples, built entirely around birria that arrives with its own cup of consomme for dipping. Slow-cooked beef and melted chihuahua cheese go into a corn tortilla; the chicken taco adds mango and pico; shrimp sits over a creamy avocado mix. Empanadas run three ways, chicken and poblano, beef with olives and golden raisins, spinach with guava and goat cheese. There is a Barrio Caesar with charred corn and avocado, Mama Chuy's rice, Mexican street corn, queso fundido, and a churro under dulce de leche. Closed Mondays. Sparkling margaritas and Jarritos round it out.
