BEACH BEAR COASTAL – Restaurant
Beach Bear Coastal put a thirty-inch sourdough pizza on US-98 in Mexico Beach and then dared people to finish it. The kitchen is scratch-driven and unexpectedly wide-ranging: Wisconsin cheese curds and chicharrones fried in beef tallow, Gulf Coast Brussels with bacon and goat cheese, grouper fish dip with tri-colour chips, mojo shrimp in a Cuban marinade, pepperoni bread rolled in house sourdough. Tacos arrive three to an order, hot honey chicken, honey sriracha shrimp, or grilled fish of the day. The 1946 salad nods to the year the town's first plot was bought. Closed on Mondays. Everything else, they cook.
