A New Orleans habit transplanted to 30A: dough dropped to order, fried, then snowed under powdered sugar while still steaming. The Santa Rosa Beach cafe on US-98 seats big groups and keeps beach hours, roughly seven in the morning until eight at night. Beignets come traditional by the four or dozen, as bite boxes, or specialty with Nutella, cinna-swirl icing, cinnamon sugar or turtle caramel and pecans, with dipping sauces from buttercream to blueberry. Coffee is the other half: chicory drip, cafe au lait, frozen Biscoff lattes. Mimosas and dessert cocktails are poured here too. A sweet spot, properly earned.
