Tony and Carol Pepe opened Bella Cucina on Sun City Center Plaza in 2010; their daughter and her family run it now, and the motto still promises guests will leave as friends. Entrees arrive with warm bread and a house salad: Mom Mom's lasagna, chicken scarpariello with sausage and olives in a light vinegar marinara, rigatoni alla vodka, lobster ravioli in pink sauce. Gulf grouper gets three treatments, including the Molly-Rizzi with artichoke hearts in garlic butter. Italian hoagies and cheesesteaks come with chips at lunch. Doors open Tuesday through Saturday, eleven until seven. Early dinners, unhurried, and deeply local.
