A slice of Berlin in a Sun City Center plaza, fitted out with artifacts shipped from Germany and modelled on the original Burg Schaenke in the capital; the family's Berlin restaurant opened in 1999 and this Florida room followed in 2006. Pretzels are baked to order and arrive with a lineup of dips - beer cheese, sweet German mustard, dragon's breath. Then schnitzel pounded thin and fried golden in pork, chicken or veal, bratwurst with sauerkraut and pan-fried potatoes, hog wings, sauerkraut balls, goulash soup, potato pancakes with homemade apple sauce. Beer comes in a proper stein. Scratch cooking, no irony.
