Berry Fresh Cafe took its scratch-cooking habit to Lake Point Plaza on Okeechobee Boulevard, opening at seven and closing by mid-afternoon. Everything is made in house: buttermilk biscuits, sausage gravy, hollandaise, mixed berry jam. Order the sack of blueberry fritters, shaken with cinnamon sugar and served with strawberry yogurt. Then benedicts, Irish with corned beef hash, redneck on a biscuit with sausage, Nova salmon on latkes. Lemon ricotta pancakes, birria breakfast tacos with consomme, shrimp over stone-ground grits, the barbacoa grilled cheese. Weekday early-bird pricing applies before eight o'clock. Family-owned since 2009, with local sourcing stated plainly throughout the menu.
