BIG D'S BBQ – Restaurant

A white smoker-trailer parked behind a Fort Myers institution: Big D's is the barbecue arm of Farmers Market Restaurant, which has been feeding Edison Avenue since 1952. The board is short and deliberately unfussy. Sliced beef brisket, smoked spare pork ribs, bone-in BBQ chicken and pulled pork, each priced with one side or two. The sides are where the Southern cooking shows: smoked mac and cheese, BBQ beans built on smoked meat, collard greens with smoked meat folded through, creamy slaw, potato salad mixed the way somebody's mother would. Banana pudding closes it. The truck also works weddings and parties.
