The dock came first: a cattle landing, then a fish house, now Bonita Fish Company, carrying on from the old Bonita Bill's on the Fort Myers Beach bayfront. Take a table by the water; start with smoked mullet dip made from local fish, snapper and shrimp ceviche cut with mango and jalapeno, or Yucatan shrimp in butter, Colombian chilies and Key lime. Then a fried grouper sandwich, bayside grouper tacos, or the smash burger. Weekend brunch brings shrimp over white cheddar grits with andouille and poblanos, plus homemade cinnamon rolls. Live music; eleven to ten daily. Old Florida, still working.
