BRUNO'S OF BROOKLYN ITALIAN EATERY – Restaurant

Calcedonio and Genevieve Bruno brought their Brooklyn cooking to First Street in downtown Fort Myers in 2014, and the room still runs on handmade pasta and old-school red sauce. Fried fresh mozzarella layered between New York bread and calamari in Bruno sauce open things up. Dinner leans generous: seafood fra diavolo over fresh pappardelle, veal chop parmigiano, pork braciole stuffed with prosciutto and parsley, braised lamb shank in chianti butter, lobster ravioli with shallots and cherry tomatoes. There is a chef's counter for those who want the view, and private wine lockers for regulars. Reservations are a wise idea here.
