CAFE ALCAZAR – Mediterranean
Lunch is served in the deep end. Café Alcazar occupies the floor of what was the Hotel Alcazar's indoor swimming pool, built by Henry Flagler in 1888 and once billed as the world's largest; the room now sits inside the Lightner Museum, ringed by antique dealers' stalls. Open daily from eleven to three, lunch only: fresh-made soups, gourmet salads, sandwiches, creative pastas, seafood and a daily fresh catch, with escargot in white wine and garlic butter on toasted pita. A classical guitarist plays Monday through Wednesday, a pianist Thursday through Sunday. Reservations matter October through March. Fine dining, casual dress.
