A no-nonsense Italian room off Palmer Crossing Circle in Sarasota, opened by Sherry and Tom Koski in 2016 and hung wall to wall with art — live painters work the floor while the kitchen sends out red sauce. The pitch is peasant Italian: slow-simmered sauces, mozzarella fresh enough to squeak, pizza, and the plates regulars ask for again, lobster ravioli, chicken marsala, grouper and eggplant. Chef Shawn runs specials past the red-sauce canon, seared steaks and fresh seafood among them. Live music sets up outside Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. Dinner only, Tuesday through Sunday. Mangia, bevi, think about nothing.
