Carmela runs several Boca Raton cafes, each pouring coffee grown on the company's own Costa Rican farm, El Cuminate, and roasted in small batches after it lands in Florida. Order a cortado, a tiramisu latte or a lavender lemonade, then eat properly: shakshuka topped with cilantro and feta, oven-baked pancakes with strawberries and granola, bagel with lox. Past noon the kitchen turns to rustic-bread toasts, keto and grain bowls, quinoa-strawberry salads, flatbreads and the mortadella-burrata focaccia. Guests repeatedly praise the friendly counter and the unhurried atmosphere. This is a cafe that behaves like a small restaurant, and that is deliberate.
