CHICK N NOOGA – Restaurant
A husband-and-wife chicken-tender operation that started as a Chattanooga food truck, moved to Florida in 2020 and worked the Sarasota area for five years before opening a permanent home. It trades today as The Island Chick-N-Shack, in a converted 1960 building on Venice Island that was once a drive-in. The tenders remain the entire argument here: fresh, never frozen, marinated, hand-breaded in a house seasoning blend. Waffle fries arrive seasoned or under cheese sauce, with seven dipping sauces including the signature Nooga one. Sandwiches run original, deluxe, hot honey and grilled. Yardbirds pile waffle fries with chicken, cheese and jalapenos.
