CINCO DE MAYO – Restaurant

Seven Jalisco-rooted dining rooms across northeast Florida share one long menu, and four of them sit in Jacksonville. The kitchen opens with queso fundido con chorizo, Mexican esquite, fried sweet plantains and chicken empanadas under green sauce. Then it goes deep: enchiladas de mole negro, enchiladas suizas, burrito panzon stuffed with carnitas, quesabirria with broth for dipping, tacos de lengua, mahi-mahi and grouper tacos, and fajitas from Hawaiian-style on half a pineapple to the beef-rib-and-shrimp Especial. Lunch specials run midday, happy hour stretches from eleven to seven, and the tequila list is long. Weekend service runs late into the night.
