Steps from the Atlantic on A1A Beach Boulevard, this St. Augustine Beach counter has worked out that sand and sugar belong together. Thirty-two locally made ice cream flavours fill the case, dairy-free and no-sugar-added among them, scooped into deluxe waffle cones that get dipped and decorated however you point. Soft serve comes chocolate, vanilla or swirled, with sprinkles and sauces piled on. It is also a proper lunch stop: Vienna all-beef Chicago-style hot dogs on steamed poppy-seed buns with onion, tomato, pickle spear, sport peppers and celery salt, plus Polish sausage and hot tamales. Open every day, eleven to ten.
