DAN'S CLAM STAND – Restaurant
New England transplanted to the Nature Coast: Dan's has been frying clams on North Sunshine Path in Crystal River since 1995. The board reads like a Cape Cod shack, with whole belly clams, fresh clam strips, New England steamers, chowder, fish and chips, colossal shrimp, raw oysters, Cedar Key clams, seafood platters and a Maine lobster roll the kitchen calls its own best seller. There is a burger and a Philly cheesesteak for the unconverted. Weekend chef's specials rotate through shrimp scampi, country boil, oysters Rockefeller and creamy lobster linguine. Open from eleven Tuesday through Sunday, closed all day Monday.
