DON CAFE – Restaurant

Military Trail, three in the morning, and Don Cafe is still serving. This West Palm Beach dining room runs around the clock, mixing Cuban comfort food with wider Latin and Caribbean cooking. Mofongo comes mashed with garlic and chicharron under steak strips, shrimp or churrasco; tostones balseros arrive stuffed with shrimp in a Spanish sauce. Lunch specials run to masitas de puerco, picadillo and pollo a la juliana with two sides. There is bandeja paisa, ceviche, fajitas, and a case of tres leches, flan and bread pudding. Cafecito, colada and batidos de mamey keep the counter busy. Genuinely all-hours cooking.
