DRAGON EXPRESS – Restaurant

Dragon Express has held its corner of East Fletcher Avenue in Tampa for years, running a no-frills Chinese counter that closes only on Tuesdays. Boneless spare ribs, sweet and sour chicken, General Tso's chicken, chicken with garlic sauce, house lo mein and garlic wings and fries make up the menu, most of it sold as generous ten-dollar dinner plates. Diners keep pointing to the value and the large portions, and to a staff that gets orders out fast and stays friendly about it. The dining room itself could use an update, but nobody seems to come here for the decor.
