El Tayta takes its name from Quechua for a wise, paternal figure, and owners Wilkins and Emmy run the Hallandale Beach Boulevard dining room on that same family footing, cooking Peruvian food made, they say, with heart and soul. Pollo a la brasa comes off the rotisserie as the anchor dish, with ceviche mixto, arroz con mariscos and lomo saltado covering the classics, tallarines verdes served alongside steak, and causa on the starter side. Picarones close the meal on a sweet note. The kitchen runs dine-in, takeout, delivery and catering, open daily including a shortened hours schedule on Christmas Eve.
