GREAT WOK – Restaurant

Great Wok is a small, no-frills Chinese kitchen on Simpson Road in Kissimmee that makes a point of how it cooks: fresh ingredients, no MSG. The board runs long - lunch specials, chef's specialties, chow mei fun, egg foo young, sweet and sour - but the dishes people actually name are General Tso's chicken, sesame chicken and beef chow mein. Regulars rate the midday deals highly and the flavors higher still, though service reads brisk to the point of blunt on a busy night. A neighborhood takeout counter, and unapologetic about it.
