HUNGRY HOWIE'S – Restaurant

Hungry Howie's built a national chain out of a single detail: seasoning the crust. Eight flavors — butter, butter cheese, asiago, ranch, cajun, sesame, garlic herb and Italian herb — are brushed on before baking, an idea in place since the mid-1980s. The kitchen is set up for carryout and delivery and the menu reflects it: specialty pizzas such as the Meat Eaters and Howie Special, calzone-style oven-baked subs, Howie Bread, Howie Wings, Howie Rolls, fresh salads and desserts. Diners come back for the price and the turnaround, and stay for the crust. Order the asiago and thank yourself later.
