A red-sauce constant on North Main Street, Joseph's has been baking since 1956 and has never made a secret of the reason: the crust is homemade, hand-tossed, from dough mixed in the shop. Beyond the pies there is spaghetti, lasagna and baked ziti, the Italian-American comfort canon cooked without fuss. Diners come back for the chicken parm sandwich and for the feeling that the people behind the counter know them. A sister shop sits over in Atlantic Beach.
