A neighbourhood Italian room in a Dunedin plaza on Patricia Avenue, closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays and busy the rest of the week. Julian's cooks the classics with some care — chicken parmigiana in a portion nobody finishes, lasagna, Italian wedding soup, breaded mozzarella to start — and turns out a New York-style pizza that regulars will argue is the best in town: crisp at the edge but still foldable. Sangria by the glass. Diners consistently single out the warmth of the staff and prices that undercut the chains. Unpretentious, and reliably good.
