Junk Cafe @ Chinatown KL – restaurant

Push past the ice-cream window on Jalan Petaling — a nod to the old ais tingkap habit — and Junk Café opens into a room furnished almost entirely from salvage: antique door frames pulled from Penang kampung and Peranakan houses, weathered paintings, Chinese dressing tables, old film posters, a zebra-skin rug. Reggae and incense do the rest. The kitchen is pork-free and deliberately simple: the Full of Junk burger with sautéed mushrooms and caramelised onions, a Mafiosa thin-crust pizza under Thai minced beef and basil, pastries by the door. The George Town original has run since 2015; this is its Chinatown outpost.
