A kopitiam reworked for the present, tucked into a heritage shophouse on Jalan Balai Polis off Petaling Street, with alleyway tables that look straight up at Merdeka 118. Breakfast is kaya butter toast and soft-boiled eggs; later it turns to nasi lemak panggung with fried chicken, salted egg chicken rice, Hainanese chicken chop, curry mee and rojak, with cendol or ais kacang to cool things down. The coffee list runs across five states, KL to Johor. Visitors keep singling out the nasi lemak - fragrant rice, properly crisp chicken - and the crowds that come with it.
