KELP SUSHI JOINT – Restaurant

Kelp reads younger and looser than the average sushi bar: soy paper, torch work, sauces with names. The specialty roll list is where it shows off. Storm Chaser puts scallops, tuna and hamachi under jalapeno mayo and ponzu; Galaxy Dragon is eel and cream cheese, torched; Fable Tide stacks four fish on one roll. Starters lean playful too, with tuna crispy rice, corn dip and wonton chips, chicken karaage and baked green mussels. Weekday happy hour from three to six keeps it honest.
