La Pizzeria and Bagel serves Valley Stream's kosher crowd both ways: bagels and bagel sandwiches early, then pizza, pasta and salads through the day, with garlic knots - dough tied, baked, brushed with butter, garlic and parsley - as the between-meals habit. The week runs on the Jewish calendar, closing early Friday and reopening after Shabbat. Two shops in one, and both of them work.
