Tucked into a plaza on North Military Trail in West Palm Beach, Lakay is a small Haitian kitchen that opens at ten and runs to nine, Monday through Saturday. Fritay with marinade is the order to lead with — a hot fried assortment meant to be shared — alongside fried pork griot, tassot, and rice and beans. The plates come out with more care than the strip-plaza setting would suggest, and the room reads homey rather than designed. Regulars give the staff steady credit for attentiveness. Straightforward Haitian cooking, six days a week. Closed Sundays.
