Set inside the reimagined Balfour hotel on Ocean Drive, Laurel makes the case for South Beach dining that is about more than the view: a dining room, a courtyard and a terrace built around Eastern Mediterranean cooking. Executive chef Camila Olarte runs the menu mezze-first, with baked jou jou pita alongside smoky moutabel and walnut muhammara, spicy cigars filled with lamb, labneh and feta, then heartier turns into steak frites, kebabs and the chicken platter.
